Cloud Migration

The decision to move one or more applications into a Cloud based environment is not a simple one and there are many factors to be considered. There are benefits to be accrued and these can include cost savings; easier remote access to data; operational efficiencies; and access to technological innovations.

Once the decision is made, the more difficult phase of implementing the new transition and working arrangements starts. This phase has a number of individual steps ranging from data transfer to changing established working practices based upon paper forms.

We can manage the process on your behalf and to help ensure the transition is as smooth as possible. The process should not be underestimated – one example is the migration of a large number of users from Exchange to hosted Exchange or Office 365 and especially if the users have large mailboxes creating a very sizeable database.

The speed with which the data can be moved into a hosted environment may be constrained by the upload bandwidth at the current site although there are workarounds to this particularly problem.

Using Cloud based systems requires a very robust Internet connection and the appropriate bandwidth both down and upstream to the Internet. We can advise on connectivity to ensure that this problem is properly considered.
